About Me

Dr Abigail Miranda Educational Psycholog

I am a London-based Educational and Child Psychologist (EP). I completed my doctorate at University College London (UCL). I have experience working across the 0-25 age range, with a specialism as an Early Years EP. As well as working as an EP, I am a primary school governor, and a mother of two children.

My aim is to help you understand your child's needs. Firstly, it is important to understand what questions or concerns you have. You may have reports from other professionals or the school and I'll ask you to share them with me. On the day of the assessment, I will spend time getting to know your child, making them feel at ease. I will spend time talking to their teacher or the SENCo. Your child will do some tasks with me which will help me understand how they feel and how they learn. After the assessment, I will give you feedback to clarify your child's strengths and needs. I will also give feedback to your child if this is appropriate; often this really boosts their confidence. You will receive a detailed report which can be shared with the school.

I have the following professional memberships and registrations:

  • Associate Fellow of the British Psychological Society (AFBPsS)

  • Honorary lecturer at Manchester University, Doctorate of Educational and Child Psychology

  • Registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) as a practitioner psychologist

  • Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) certificate
